Terms of Service
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Keydle, a mobile application for short interactive lessons and related services (the "App" or "Service"). The Service is operated by [LEGAL COMPANY NAME], a company registered in [COUNTRY OF REGISTRATION] with its registered address at [COMPANY ADDRESS] ("Keydle", "we", "us", or "our").
Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account, downloading the App, starting a subscription, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use Keydle
You must be at least 13 years old to use Keydle. If you are under the age of majority in your country or region, you may use Keydle only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
You may use Keydle only if you can legally enter into these Terms and only in a country or region where the App is made available through the Apple App Store.
2. What Keydle provides
Keydle provides short, interactive educational lessons across topics such as history, psychology, economics, philosophy, science, architecture, art, politics, business, and writing.
The Service may include:
- daily lessons;
- interactive checks and quizzes;
- saved lessons;
- lesson progress;
- streaks, achievements, and learning goals;
- personalized recommendations based on selected interests;
- reminders and notifications, if enabled;
- premium subscription access.
We may add, remove, change, or update lessons, features, pricing, and availability over time.
3. Website and waitlist
Before the App is publicly available, our website may allow you to join a waitlist for early access and launch updates. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access to the App by a specific date and does not create a paid subscription.
If you provide your email address through the website or waitlist form, we may contact you by email about Keydle early access, launch updates, and related product information if you have provided consent. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails or request deletion of your waitlist email as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Educational content only
Keydle is for educational and informational purposes only. The Service does not provide legal, financial, medical, psychological, investment, tax, or other professional advice.
Lessons are designed to help users understand ideas, mental models, historical patterns, and concepts. They may simplify complex topics for a short learning format. We try to make content useful and accurate, but we do not guarantee that all content will be complete, current, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.
You are responsible for how you interpret and use the content.
5. Your account
You may create an account using email and password, Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or other sign-in methods we may support.
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- keeping your login credentials secure;
- activity that occurs through your account;
- notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users or the Service, or used the Service unlawfully.
6. Subscriptions, trials, and paid access
Keydle may offer paid subscriptions through Apple App Store in-app purchases. Plans may include monthly, three-month, and annual subscriptions, as displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase.
The current planned pricing is:
- Monthly plan: [MONTHLY PRICE, for example $9.99 per month]
- Three-month plan: [THREE-MONTH PRICE]
- Annual plan: [ANNUAL PRICE, for example $59.99 per year]
Actual prices may vary by country or region, local currency, taxes, App Store pricing rules, promotions, and availability.
Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, paid subscriptions renew automatically. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals, but it does not usually provide a refund for the current billing period unless Apple decides otherwise under its policies.
7. Free trials and promotional offers
Keydle may offer a free trial for eligible users. At this stage, the free trial is planned only for the annual subscription plan. Trial length and eligibility will be shown in the App Store purchase flow.
If you start a free trial, your subscription may automatically convert to a paid annual subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Keydle may also offer limited-time welcome discounts or other promotional offers. A welcome discount may be offered without a free trial. Eligibility, duration, pricing, and availability of any trial or promotional offer may vary and may be managed through Apple App Store systems.
8. Refunds
Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. We cannot guarantee refunds and do not directly process App Store payment refunds.
9. Account deletion
If you create an account, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Keydle will provide an in-app account deletion option where required by App Store rules. Until that flow is fully available, you may request deletion by contacting us at [PRIVACY EMAIL].
Some limited information may be retained where required by law, for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, financial records, or legitimate business records.
10. Notifications
If you allow notifications, Keydle may send reminders related to learning goals, daily lessons, trial status, subscription reminders, or limited-time offers. You can control notifications in your device settings and, where available, in the App.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful purposes;
- attempt to reverse engineer, copy, scrape, or extract the App or its content except where legally permitted;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service;
- bypass payment, subscription, or access controls;
- use automated systems to access the Service;
- misuse trademarks, logos, lessons, artwork, or other Keydle materials;
- attempt to access another user's account or data.
12. Intellectual property
The App, lessons, text, artwork, design, interface, logos, software, and other materials are owned by Keydle or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial learning purposes.
You may not copy, distribute, sell, publish, or create derivative works from Keydle content without our written permission.
13. User content and feedback
At this stage, Keydle is primarily a content and learning app and does not provide public posting or social networking features.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, support messages, or similar communications, you allow us to use them to improve the Service without compensation to you. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share any information you submit.
14. Third-party services
Keydle may rely on third-party services such as Apple, Google, Firebase, analytics providers, hosting providers, and content delivery services.
Your use of Apple App Store, Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or other third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
15. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, any lesson, any feature, or any subscription plan at any time. Some features may not be available in all countries or regions.
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the App, website, email, or other appropriate means. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Keydle disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that:
- the Service will always be available or uninterrupted;
- content will always be accurate, complete, or current;
- the App will be free from bugs or errors;
- the Service will meet your expectations or learning goals.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Keydle and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from or related to your use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Keydle's total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid to Keydle through the App Store for the Service in the 12 months before the claim; or
- [LIMITATION AMOUNT, for example US $100].
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
18. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Keydle from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any law or third-party rights.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION], excluding conflict of law rules.
Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in [COURT LOCATION], unless applicable consumer protection laws give you the right to bring a claim in another jurisdiction.
20. Apple terms
Because Keydle is distributed through the Apple App Store, your use of the App is also subject to Apple's applicable terms, including Apple Media Services Terms and App Store rules. Apple is not responsible for the App, its content, support, or claims related to the App, except as required by applicable law.
